MORE  Details . . . .  .

We left the MLR last year with a deep sense of the Lord moving us to the gates of His enemy. Along with this came another insight into what lies ahead of us. He is calling us into the ministry of glory, such that Paul spoke elaborately about in 2Corinthians chapters 2, 3 and 4. God seems to be calling us to an experience in life and ministry that will fill our land with His glory. “I am doing a new thing. I am doing a new thing on the earth. It is time for the birthing of a new thing. It is fresh and new. It is not just a repetition of the old things.” He said to our hearts as we prayed.

Seeking to understand the nature of what God is about to do with our lives, it is clear that it will follow the pattern of the life and ministry of Christ. It will even follow the progression His life and ministry followed. It will not just be an effort to imitate Him externally; it must be His own life bearing the glory but in our earthen vessels if we must accomplish what God in mercy is holding out to us in this crucial time.

As we prayed, it became clear that God’s men must be those in whom His life dwells and in whom He can freely operate. The mystery we have been discovering is that it is not a man, working for God that will bring the victory and the glory, but God at work in the man. All of the scripture attest to this that “It is God who works in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure”. It is Christ in you, which is the hope of realizing the glory for which we are seeking to see in this generation and in the Church worldwide.

Men like Paul declared, “It is not I, but Christ who lives in me” etc. Hence the MLR this year is coming with this mystery as the thematic focus: “Christ in You” or if you wish “The treasure in an earthen vessel”. We seek under God to experience a fresh flushing out of the natural life that has hindered the deep working of God within our mortal frames. We seek a release of the life from within that can confront the present decay in our midst and allow God’s purpose to thrive and to prosper on our hands in the coming days.

The glory of God cannot and will not be poured on the flesh. There must be a deep work of circumcision to cut off the foreskin of the flesh from our lives. We must not keep anything that originates from the flesh from the dealing of the cross and for death to work on it. If we must press on for the ministry of glory from this present level of ministry, we have to let go any and everything that hinders the glory from breaking forth in our lives. Uzziah had to die for Isaiah to see the Lord in His glory. Uzziah himself died for tampering with the glory of God. But Isaiah was given a chance for cleansing. The glory revealed to Isaiah the deep things that he never saw about himself. Fire coals were released from the altar above to purge his life permanently. It was a deep work on his life. The character of his life and ministry changed.

This meeting, we sense, will be a definite encounter of our lives with God and with His fire. It will be an evacuation of all things that filled the space, so that the king of glory may come in. It will be a lifting up of everlasting gates that He, the King of glory may come in. He is the Lord, the mighty in battle, but living, walking and working in me to manifest His glory among men. He must enter His temple again probably with the whip of cords to evict those strangers in the sanctuary within our hearts.

“The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple He found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons and the money-changers sitting there. And making a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And He poured out the coins of the moneychangers and overturned their tables. And He told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make My Father’s house a house of trade.” (John 2:13-16 ESV)

Once again it will be our greatest privilege to receive you into God’s presence. As usual, all feeding and accommodation has been graciously provided for by Him. Do however contact us if you need a private accommodation arrangement.

in focusCurrentText Box: GENESIS AND BURDEN
For a couple of years at the inception of this work, the Lord moved us to gather simply as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ seeking personal and corporate revival in retreats tagged “Solemn Assembly”. The spiritual condition of our personal lives and how it can be helped by God to enable us conform to the image of His Son so that we also can become the son or daughter in whom God is well pleased; was the basic focus.
As these retreats grew and towards the last episodes, God began to focus our hearts on the imminence of a revival upon our land as well as the entire generation. The burden therefore was to begin a labour that will produce and procure lives that can bear it and hands that can steer it.
Naturally, the Lord turned our attention on His Ministers and those in the leadership of His Church . . . and the Ministers’ Leadership Retreat was born!
Since its inception in 1992, God has labored to produce men with the requisite life to represent God among men. He has come with deliberate instructions, shown us the biblical pattern of ministry and sanctified our attitudes to physical and material fall-outs or “spoils” of ministry which can easily spoil the anointing. God deliberately led us into covenants, consecrations and commitments before beginning to commission us into His move which is evidently upon us.
If the Lord stirs your heart to attend this year’s MLR, this is the journey we invite you to come along . . as we step into a personal and yet, global revival.
